Position
Peacock Law P.C. is seeking a full-time executive assistant/legal assistant. Peacock Law P.C. is an intellectual property and business law firm that for over thirty years has represented some of the world’s most promising and awarded tech start-ups, emerging growth companies, entrepreneurs, and established businesses across a broad range of industries.
Location
This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Albuquerque office, with regular business hours Monday through Friday. Overtime is rarely required. You would report directly to the attorneys in our firm.
About the Position
We are seeking an executive assistant/legal assistant with at least five years of experience in a legal or other professional services environment who thrives on variety, takes ownership of their responsibilities, is self-directed, a fast learner and most important, is detail-oriented. This is a high-variety, high-impact role supporting between 6-10 attorneys in their administrative matters. No two days look the same. You will be part of a collegial and collaborative staff team that includes paralegals, docketing specialists, mail room staff and accountants. Many of our assistants have grown to either become intellectual property paralegals or firm administrative managers, and some have enjoyed staying as an executive assistant or legal assistant for many years.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities of this position include the following:
· Managing conflicts checks and the firm’s conflict database;
· Drafting and submitting terms of representation to clients;
· Coordinating signatures on legal documents using electronic signature platforms (e.g. DocuSign);
· Creating and managing SharePoint and OneDrive links for secure external document sharing;
· Organizing and maintaining client files across the firm's document management system (which is mostly electronic);
· Drafting, reviewing and revising business correspondence;
· Compiling exhibits and supporting documentation for court pleadings and other legal filings;
· Formatting, proofreading, and finalizing legal documents;
· Searching Secretary of State databases to verify corporate entity names and status;
· Tracking CLE compliance for all attorneys across multiple state bars and submitting credits and renewal applications;
· Tracking and maintaining attorney memberships, professional associations, and organizational affiliations;
· Assisting attorneys, especially the President, with extensive travel arrangements and reimbursements and travel requests;
· Preparing attorneys for networking conferences;
· Backup support to reception, including receiving calls from potential clients to route to attorneys;
· Back up to the mail room staff, including handling incoming and outgoing mail, package preparation;
· Managing firm holiday card mailings including address compilation and coordination; and
· Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
· At least five years of experience in a legal, administrative, or professional services environment is preferred.
· An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or a paralegal certificate, is preferred but not required; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, and SharePoint or a fast learner of such software.
· Strong written communication skills — you will draft correspondence and documents that go to clients.
· Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple attorneys simultaneously.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in document management and compliance tracking.
· Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable identifying what needs to be done without waiting to be asked.
· Professional discretion in handling confidential client information.
