Vortex Liquid Color was founded in 1996 in Sheboygan, WI and provides liquid color concentrates for many of the engineering and commodity polymers. We create color chemistry for a sustainable future. We combine economic success with environmental protection and social responsibility. Poly Compounding specializes in toll compounding heat and shear sensitive engineered plastics. Founded in 2001, we focus on partnering with our customers to develop processes for compounding their materials. All companies contributing to the success of our customers by providing them custom formulation, brilliant colors and draw the attention of consumers. We are a leader in our field in North America and work relentlessly to satisfy our customers’ needs globally.

Key Account Manager(KAM): You will be responsible for the leadership and management of the Americas business development team initiative for Peacock Colors, Vortex Liquid Color and Poly Compounding. KAM is responsible for new target build and closure through market development. Accountability will center on relationship building, which will include prospecting, forecasting, achievement of sales objectives and directing activities across functional groups in support of account goals. Expectations include the ability to sell at all levels of management and building relationships that ensure our company will continue to get the first and last look. Being skilled at customer centric selling approaches and effectively selling the value of our products and services are also keys to success. BDM must have the ability to assist customers in problem solving to deliver solutions, bring energy, enthusiasm and professionalism to their daily routines, and be able to perform the function independently and effectively coach and direct personnel in marketing and other disciplines to achieve results.

This individual will be able to influence effectively at the peer level, as well as with the next level of the organization, as a thought leader influencing cross functionally. Up to 75% of travel is required including travel to HQ, Elgin, IL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop new/new key customer relationships and drive closure of strategic opportunities across Americas for Solid MB, Liquid Colors and custom compounds.
  • Prospecting new account calls, development of a robust sales funnel, relentless target generation and target closure for innovation and core products.
  • Handle top Key accounts directly for development and management, network resources up, down and across both the customer’s organization and company.
  • Develop account relationships, identify opportunities and capture the specification for company products at strategic accounts within assigned geography or industry.
  • Establish, track and close new business targets consistent with short and long-term objectives at designated accounts within the territory.
  • Develop account relationships, identify opportunities and capture service opportunities at strategic accounts within assigned geography or industry.
  • Develop contact matrix and establish strong relationships with key decision makers and project facilitators.
  • Develop, execute and manage sales plans, sales budgets, and expense budgets. Negotiate pricing and contracts to deliver value and growth.
  • Coordinate closely with regional sales teams as well as collaborating with the technical area as necessary to accelerate and drive profitable growth through solutions selling to targeted accounts.
  • Monitor the competition to better understand issues and threats and develop plans to eliminate barriers.
  • Participate in strategy development, help position the business and develop the offer. Assist in defining the target markets, and commercial strategy.
  • Establish individual performance standards, goals and objectives - measure and provide feedback.
  • Develop written Account Plans for strategic accounts including metrics to define annualized sales potential at each account.

  • Results Oriented: Proven commercial track record with sustained business results and topline growth, accountability for target follow up and closure. Ability to break complex problems into manageable tasks and direct necessary resources to meet and beat deadlines.
  • Passion for Excellence: Integrity and resilience is a must. High level of collaboration, willing to accept constructive criticism/feedback, led by example, exhibit and expect hard work, deep passion and breed success.

QUALIFYING & REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in science or engineering or business or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales and marketing in differentiated markets.
  • Ability to interact with R&D and manufacturing to facilitate developments, complaint investigations, etc.
  • Business development, application development, project management, and pull-through marketing experience with a proven track record.
  • Background in the plastics industry. Proven ability to influence internal and external decision makers.
  • Results oriented. Strong communication and sales skills. Strong team player.
  • Comfortable and efficient working independently.

Pay: From $80,000.00 per year
