Location: Chico, California, this is a solo provider office that shares space with our vision center. As the sole provider, we are looking for an experienced clinician (5 years in practice) who can work independently.

EHR: NextGen

Volume: 2 visits per hour, with bonus opportunity for exceeding

Schedule: Five 8 hour days, no weekends or evenings

About the Role

The Medical Provider delivers comprehensive primary and preventive healthcare services to patients within the scope of their licensure and training. This position is responsible for diagnosing and treating illnesses and injuries, prescribing medications and treatments, maintaining accurate medical records, coordinating patient care with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and promoting quality patient outcomes. The Medical Provider supports organizational quality initiatives, compliance requirements, community health objectives, and continuous improvement efforts while ensuring the delivery of accessible, patient-centered care.

Clinical Assessment, Diagnosis, and Treatment

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
• Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, vaccinations, and other specialized medical care consistent with scope of practice.
• Order, perform, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and examination findings.
• Monitor patient progress and response to treatment plans; modify treatment interventions as clinically indicated.
• Provide emergency medical services and urgent patient care as necessary.
• Refer patients to specialists, ancillary services, or other healthcare providers when appropriate.
• Provide treatment consistent with clinical impressions, diagnoses, and established standards of care.
• Monitor patient compliance with treatment plans and recommend appropriate interventions.

Patient Care and Education

• Collect, document, and maintain comprehensive patient medical histories, examination findings, and treatment records.
• Explain diagnoses, procedures, treatment plans, risks, and test results to patients and families.
• Counsel patients regarding disease prevention, nutrition, exercise, hygiene, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Promote patient satisfaction through compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Ensure continuity of care throughout the patient's healthcare experience.
• Facilitate effective care transitions and transfers between healthcare providers and organizations.
• Ensure healthcare services remain accessible and available to patients.

Care Coordination and Collaboration

• Collaborate with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation specialists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Communicate relevant patient information through timely and accurate documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
• Provide narrative summaries and clinical documentation to support continuity of care and interdisciplinary communication.
• Direct and coordinate activities of students, assistants, interns, and other healthcare staff as assigned.
• Participate in student internship, job shadowing, or clinical education programs as applicable.

Quality Improvement and Compliance

• Participate in peer chart reviews and quality assurance activities.
• Implement recommendations and directives from Quality Improvement (QI), Quality Assurance (QA), Risk Management Committees, and the Board of Directors.
• Participate in Clinical Outcome Improvement initiatives.
• Review and comply with established Minimum Quality Standards and clinical performance measures.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA, organizational policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in credentialing and recredentialing activities as required.
• Support risk management and patient safety initiatives.

Administrative and Organizational Support

• Check organizational email and electronic communication systems daily.
• Complete medical records, reports, and patient documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assist with the development of grants, program reports, and government reporting requirements, including HRSA and other funding agencies.
• Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education activities.
• Perform administrative duties and related medical responsibilities as assigned.
• Comply with all terms and conditions of employment and organizational policies.

Population Health and Community Programs

• Support organizational efforts related to population health management, preventive care, and health promotion.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited medical school and any specialized training appropriate to the position.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice in the State of California as applicable.
• Current DEA registration and authority to prescribe medications, if required by position.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Pay range and compensation package

$264,160 - $349,440 based on experience
