Originally, our focus was on staffing hospitals and nursing homes in the middle Georgia region. However, we soon expanded our services to include home care as well. We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Aide to join our team for Central State Hospital-Cook Building in Milledgeville, Georgia. The applicant must be experienced in working with adults in a psychiatric/forensic setting. In this role, you will provide basic patient care in a psychiatric facility. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality care, ensuring patient comfort, and assisting with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patient needs and will demonstrate a commitment to maintaining the dignity and respect of those in their care.
Shifts: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM , 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Respond to patients' calls for assistance.
- Assists in administration of medications and treatments, takes vital signs.
- Conducts activities for recreation and socialization.
- Ensures the safety and security of clients.
- Feed clients who are unable to feed themselves.
- Observes and documents patient data, behavior, and activity.
- Prepare clients for treatment or examination.
- Provides client care by supplying and emptying bedpans, applying dressings and supervising exercise routines.
- Helps clients walk, exercise, and move in and out of bed.
- Provides subprofessional occupational and/or physical therapy services to physically and /or developmentally disabled patients
- Transports and/or accompanies clients to treatment units.
- Consistently utilize the principles of the recovery model when engaging patients.
- Maintain acceptable standards of patient care consistent with Joint Commission, CMS, and Department policies, including diet and physical activity.
- Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with Supplier leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
- Responds to hospital codes as appropriate.
- Performs approved techniques to prevent and safely manage aggressive behaviors.
Experience
- Experience working with adults in a Psychiatric/Forensic Setting
- Experience working in a maximum security setting
- knowledge of documentation principles
- Knowledge of safe transferring protocols.
- knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control processes
