Per Diem Ultrasound Sonographer
PeaceHealth Cottage Grove Medical Center – Cottage Grove, Oregon
Shifts: Variable
Pay Range: $48.52 – $72.78 per hour, plus a 15% differential in lieu of benefits.
(Hiring rate depends on education, experience, training, and applicable agreements.)
About This Opportunity
This per diem role offers maximum work–life balance with no night shifts, no call rotation, and all shifts occurring between the hours of 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM. You’ll provide coverage for vacations, sick calls, and occasional staffing needs—ideal for experienced sonographers who want flexibility without sacrificing meaningful, hands‑on clinical work.

What You’ll Do
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams using independent clinical judgment.
- Complete initial assessments and share findings with interpreting physicians.
- Choose and tailor exams based on patient needs and clinical history.
- Optimize exams by reviewing prior imaging and medical records.
- Document results, prepare preliminary reports, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with daily workflow, scheduling, and routine clerical duties when needed.
- Ensure equipment is maintained, calibrated, and exam rooms are prepared.
- Identify normal vs. abnormal findings within your scope of practice.
- Support related duties based on licensure, training, and experience.
What You Bring
Education
- Graduation from an accredited School of Ultrasound Sonography (required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasound Technology (preferred)
Experience
- 1 year of diagnostic ultrasound experience in a hospital setting (preferred)
- Knowledge of PACS/RIS (required)
Credentials
- ARDMS registration preferred at hire
- ARDMS-eligible candidates may be considered (registration required within 1 year)
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) registration (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) at hire
