Job Summary
Responsible for monitoring the overall services, developing quality and performance indicators, gathering data for analysis as well as ensuring continuous improvement to optimize services and stewardship of resources. Is responsible for staffing and scheduling for assigned area (s). Coordinates the functions of the procurement process and inventory control (receiving, storing, distribution of supplies, and delivery of materials, equipment and supplies to departments).
Essential Functions
- Links mission into day-to-day work, focuses on meeting organization/departmental targets, monitors budget variances and recommends or develops plans for improvement, assures regulatory compliance.
- Responsible for all personnel matters including supervision, hiring, terminations, evaluations, staff development and organizational health. Recommends selection of staff, monitors and evaluates performance and accountability of staff. Evaluates competence and initiates performance improvement plans to develop staff, provides meaningful and constructive feedback.
- Works with leadership to assist in the development of policies, procedures, and enhancements to the delivery of services, and operations of the department.
- Plans, organizes, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of purchasing, inventory control, receiving and distribution.
- Monitors and becomes familiar with group purchasing contracts to assure compliance and best values.
- Collaborates with other healthcare team members toward the best outcome for the patients.
- Responsible for department budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
- Associate Degree Required: or a combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job and
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred: in relevant field
- Minimum of 4 years Required: Supply Chain experience, preferably in healthcare and
- Preferred: Previous supervisory experience and
- Required: Previous experience with computerized purchasing systems
Skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills (Required)
- Must possess technical knowledge and terminology required for effective purchasing and must have the ability to understand legal aspects of contracts and purchasing functions (Required)
Lifting
- Consistently operates computer and other office equipment.
- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Sedentary work.
- Predominantly operates in an office environment.
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
