- Unit: 26 OR suites including 2 hybrid and 2 CVOR suites.

- Hospital: 350-bed regional referral hospital with level II trauma center

Position Details:
The Program Manager RN Robotic Surgery is responsible for serving as the day-to-day facilitator within the Robotic Surgery Program and will coordinate/oversee the development, implementation, and organization of all elements of the robotic surgery program. Responsible for coordinating the efforts between physicians, hospital administration, marketing, caregivers, patients, and vendors while tracking, monitoring and assessing the progress of the program and identifying areas for improvement.
Essential Functions
- Facilitates program development and oversees the day-to-day patient management within the Robotic Surgery Service Line.
- Coordinates planning, evaluation of program effectiveness, efficiency and quality of service. Provides ongoing assessment of program needs. Submits quality indicator information to senior leaders and quality council for monitoring and tracking.
- Coordinates and leads regularly scheduled meetings effectively with all participating parties within the Robotic Surgery Program, such as unit staff, medical director, other physicians and key staff. Attends and maintains membership on appropriately assigned committees. Assists the surgeon chair of the Robotic Surgery Excellence Committee.
- Develops and maintains standardized systems of care with the surgeons, including pre-op, post-op and discharge orders.
- Maintains effective communications with team members and Medical Center departments. Builds relationships successfully with various internal and external stakeholders.
- Serves as the clinical resource for robotic surgery best practice and benchmarking by educating nurses and physicians, monitoring patient care, and coordinating onboarding of new surgeons in the robotics program. Develops and maintains standardized care in key clinical areas including pre-op, post-op and discharge orders.
- Collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure effective case scheduling, including the clinical decision-making process about application of robotic surgery. Supports the review and development of preference cards, with the goal to improve stewardship, and driving to achieve exceptional outcomes. Ensures instrument maintenance, effective supply, product and inventory management.
- Responsible for Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities to include, but limited to: tracking surgical outcomes, patient satisfaction, clinical/customer service standards, patient complications, denied days, hospital-wide survey results, nurse call back results, length of stay and volumes, etc. and other areas as need determines. Responsible for developing and implementing improvement plans and other patient satisfaction activities.
- Assists the department manager with staffing decisions, ensuring services are aligned with capabilities. Conducts and coordinates staff training for the robotic service line.
- Acts as a good steward of financial and other resources. Leads and facilitates cost and benefit analysis for the service line, utilizing PeaceHealth internal resources and experts, data from vendor and/or Premier. Identifies patient amenities and secure necessary resources to administer the services.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a clinical Operating Room RN
- Preferred: Robotic surgery circulating experience and DaVinci Robot experience
- Preferred: Minimum of 1 year Health care supervisory or program coordination experience
- Required: Oregon State Registered Nurse License
- Required: Basic Life Support Certification
- Working knowledge of surgical procedures, related disease processes, interventions, and treatments related to those procedures. (Required)
- Excellent verbal and written skills. (Required)
- Ability to interact with all medical center departments and to work independently on projects. (Required)
- Ability to demonstrate a courteous, caring and understanding attitude toward patients, families, co-workers, visitors and physicians. (Required)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and effectively communicate with all levels of hospital staff, physicians and patients. (Required)
- Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications. (Required)
