PeaceHealth has been serving the communities of Southeast Alaska since 1923 with Ketchikan Medical Center, a 25-bed critical-access hospital offering comprehensive trauma care, outpatient and home health services, and a 29-bed long-term care facility. Primary and specialty medical care is provided by PeaceHealth Medical Group—Ketchikan and Prince of Wales Island. Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES).

Job Description
Ideal Candidate
- Board Certified/Eligible Orthopedic MD/DO
- Seeking a general Orthopedic Surgeon skilled in basic trauma care; interest or background in Hand or Foot/Ankle is a plus to complement our current team
- At least one-year post-training experience preferred
- Interest in a unique, rural practice in beautiful Southeast Alaska
- Ketchikan’s unique setting lends itself to a variety of cases; all ages (mostly adult)
- Good OR capabilities where extensive procedures can be done
- 2 trained Casting Techs
- Team of 2 surgeons and 1 PA with strong RN support
- 1:1 MA support
- Schedule consists of 2 clinic days and 2 OR days
- Collaboration between OR and clinic is solid
- Epic EHR
- Certification in BLS, ACLS, or PALs required as a condition of employment within 30 days of hire.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly Relief/Per Diem Rate: $380.23/hr
- Medical malpractice coverage and tail coverage
- Airfare, lodging, transportation are covered
