PeaceHealth is seeking an LPN Clinic - OB GYN for a Per Diem/Relief, 0.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $26.64 - $35.96 for MA and $28.73 – $43.09 for LPN. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.
In collaboration with the healthcare team, assists physicians/providers in the delivery of patient care working within the scope of practice.
Details of the position:
- Prepares patients for examination and treatment or anesthesia interview as applicable. Takes and records patient history and vital signs as applicable.
- Prepares exam and/or treatment rooms; select, setup and maintain medical supplies and equipment for all examinations, procedures and/or anesthesia interview as applicable.
- Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
- Gives injections, applies splints and dressings, and facilitates simple wound management under provider orders.
- Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
- May assist in scheduling patients for tests, initial and follow up appointments.
- May maintain patient files, records, and other information including entry of data into electronic medical record.
- May provide phone screening of patient to appropriate clinical staff and/or physician.
- May transport specimens.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
Education
- Required: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant/Medical Office Assistant program, MA Apprenticeship program, or accredited State Board of Nursing LPN program.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year Preferred: clinical experience as an LPN or medical office experience as an MA.
- Required: Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs
Credentials
- Required: Upon Hire Washington State MA certification (MA-C) or LPN licensure.
- Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross at date of hire.
- If an MA, National Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
Skills
- Basic computer skills required including familiarity with MS Office applications. (Required)
- Must have cooperative working and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of patients, families and staff. (Required)
- Effective prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple clinical tasks at one time. (Required)
- Must be well organized, detail oriented, flexible and able to function independently. (Required)
Working Conditions
Lifting
- Patient handling no greater than 35 lbs. without the use of assistive equipment and/or devices (NIOSH).
- Fine motor skills to be able to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures.
- Push/Pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (i.e., WOW, medical carts).
- Perform hands on CPR at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Assoc. of EMS Physicians and AHA) Frequency should be seldom or occasionally.
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting.
- Bending/ stooping/ squatting/ reaching/ kneeling frequently.
- Lifting (non-patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently.
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles.
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment.
Mental/Visual
- Vision and hearing required within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted).
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
