Pay Range
- $61.15 – $91.33 per hour
- Hiring rate is based on factors such as education, training, experience, collective bargaining agreement terms, and seniority.
Job Summary
As an Electrophysiology Technologist, you will provide safe, efficient, and individualized patient care during invasive electrophysiology procedures. You will work closely with cardiologists, radiologists, and the broader care team to support excellent patient outcomes.
This role includes:
- Supporting invasive cardiac procedures
- Using imaging and monitoring equipment
- Applying radiation safety principles
- Recognizing patient changes and responding quickly, including life support when needed
- Staying current with evolving technology and best practices
- Assess and deliver patient care within your scope of education and credentials, in collaboration with a cardiologist or radiologist.
- Provide direct patient care during electrophysiology and catheter-based procedures.
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic imaging to track catheter location and document findings.
- Assist physicians with positioning, manipulating, and preparing catheters and guide wires.
- Prepare and maintain a sterile field.
- Monitor, document, and record patient condition and procedure progress.
- Document care accurately in the health record.
- Maintain professional skills through ongoing education.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- Graduation from an accredited Cardiovascular program, Radiologic Technology program, or
- A combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and skills.
- Minimum 6 months of clinical electrophysiology experience (required).
- 2 years preferred: Clinical electrophysiology experience.
- 2 years required: Interventional cardiovascular hospital experience for candidates trained on the job.
- Demonstrated ability to provide age-appropriate care across the lifespan.
- Preferred experience with:
- Electrogram interpretation
- Programmed electrical stimulation
- Intracardiac echocardiography
- Radiologic Technologist (ARRT – Radiography)
- Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
- Certified Electrophysiology Specialist
- Basic Life Support (required upon hire)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (required within 6 months)
- Strong knowledge of vascular and related anatomy.
- Ability to monitor blood pressure, heart rhythm, and oxygen levels using advanced equipment.
- Comfort working in emergency and high‑stress situations.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to take after‑hours call as assigned.
- ARRT‑licensed caregivers must register with the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging and maintain active registration.
- Oregon Board registration is not required for RCIS, RCES, CEPS, or CVIS credentials.
