PeaceHealth is seeking a Director IT Infrastructure Services for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $74.50 – $111.74. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

Job Summary

Provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the engineering, architecture, and lifecycle management of PeaceHealth's enterprise infrastructure across all facilities and care settings. This role drives the vision and roadmap for a secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure ecosystem—encompassing data center services, cloud platforms, telecommunications, network services, storage, compute, and other critical systems that support clinical and business operations. Ensures that infrastructure capabilities align with organizational strategy, digital transformation goals, and long-term technology modernization efforts. This includes establishing enterprise engineering standards, evaluating emerging technologies, optimizing cost and performance, and ensuring operational excellence across all infrastructure services. Sets operational objectives, oversees team structure and workforce planning, and leads initiatives that enhance system reliability, cybersecurity posture, service availability, and caregiver satisfaction. The role is accountable for regulatory readiness, compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, and continuous improvement in quality, performance, and service delivery.

Essential Functions

  • Leads the development of the multi year enterprise infrastructure strategy, aligning with PeaceHealth’s clinical, operational, and digital transformation priorities. Establishes and maintains enterprise engineering standards, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps that guide modernization, cloud adoption, and technical debt reduction.
  • Partners with senior IT and business leaders to anticipate organizational needs and design infrastructure solutions that enhance care delivery, data-driven decision-making, and enterprise agility.
  • Plans, organizes, staffs, directs, and develops high-performing IT infrastructure teams to meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and support enterprise service reliability.
  • Defines workforce requirements based on demand forecasting, modernization initiatives, and skills needed for emerging technology platforms (e.g., cloud, automation, observability), fosters a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and engineering excellence across all infrastructure domains.
  • Ensures infrastructure practices align with regulatory requirements, cybersecurity standards, and enterprise risk management frameworks. Drives readiness for accreditation, regulatory audits, and technology-related compliance assessments.
  • Partners with Information Security to strengthen infrastructure resiliency, identity and access management, disaster recovery capabilities, and vulnerability remediation.
  • Develops strategic vendor partnerships, negotiates contracts, and manages performance to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and cost-effective solutions. Makes system wide recommendations for vendor selection, contract negotiation strategy, performance requirements, and approval of enterprise infrastructure service agreements.
  • Oversees enterprise infrastructure budgets, cost optimization programs, and multi-year capital planning aligned with the organization’s financial strategy. Provides quarterly forecasting and strategic investment recommendations to Senior Leadership. Recommends and justifies major capital and operating investments, including multiyear modernization programs, for executive approval; holds delegated authority within defined thresholds.
  • Designs infrastructure policies, operational frameworks, lifecycle expectations, and governance structures influencing change management, risk management, resiliency, and performance.
  • Develops a sourcing strategy that blends internal capability with managed services and OEM partnerships; structures outcome based SOWs tied to SLAs/XLAs.
  • Directs capacity planning, systems performance monitoring, resiliency design, and availability management across all infrastructure services. Defines enterprise service level objectives (SLOs) and expectations for infrastructure reliability, performance, and support delivery.
  • Oversees execution of maintenance activities, technology lifecycle management, and operational processes with a focus on transparency, communication, and minimal business impact. Ensures infrastructure changes follow IT change management policies and align with business continuity needs.
  • Makes system wide recommendations on infrastructure engineering standards, technology architecture, and platform direction. Makes final recommendations—and in designated areas, on infrastructure technology investments, modernization paths, cloud adoption, and vendor platforms aligned to enterprise strategy.
  • Determines organizational design, staffing strategy, resource allocation, and outsourcing/partnering models required to meet performance and modernization expectations. Makes system wide recommendations on infrastructure related risk posture and mitigation strategies; has authority to escalate or enforce remediation actions across the enterprise.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree Required: Computer Science or related field, or the equivalent years of professional experience and education and
  • Master's Degree Preferred: or equivalent experience

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years Required: Information technology experience in infrastructure services. and
  • Minimum of 5 years Required: Leadership experience including managing complex, multi-team projects

Credentials

  • Preferred: Network Certification
  • Preferred: ITIL v4 Certification
  • Preferred: LEAN or PMP Certification
  • Preferred: Azure/AWS/GCP Certification (public cloud management cert)

Working Conditions
