Why Us. Why Now.

You’ve mastered your craft. You know what it feels like to be in a high-volume environment where patient care takes a back seat to production quotas—and you’re ready for something better.

At PeaceHealth Ketchikan Medical Center, we offer a role where your expertise matters, your voice is heard, and your time with patients is valued. As a critical access hospital and a 2024 Newsweek & Statista Best In-State Hospital, we deliver care that’s personal, precise, and deeply connected to our community - one patient, one family, one neighbor at a time.

What’s In It For You

  • Patient-first care — no assembly-line imaging. You’ll have time to educate, reassure, and connect.
  • Advanced technology — work with our brand-new Siemens Somatom X.cite CT scanner, including cardiac CT capability.
  • Variety and autonomy — CT plus X-ray in a collaborative, mission-driven team.
  • Island living with access — a short flight to Seattle keeps you connected while you enjoy the beauty of Alaska.
  • Stability — we’re hiring for long‑term teammates who want to put down roots.

Step Into the Future of Imaging

Join us and redefine what’s possible in CT imaging.

  • Work With the Best: Our brand-new Siemens Somatom X.cite sets the standard for advanced CT technology.
  • Master Cardiac CT: Elevate your skills with cutting‑edge cardiac imaging capabilities.
  • Smart Technology, Smarter Workflow: AI-driven automation makes scans faster, easier, and more accurate.
  • Crystal‑Clear Results: Deliver exceptional image quality that transforms patient care.
  • Designed for Comfort: A modern, calming CT suite that enhances both patient and technologist experience.
  • Grow Your Expertise: Be part of a team that invests in innovation—and in you.

Schedules Available (Full-Time)

  • 1.0 FTE: Monday–Friday, 08:30–17:00
  • 0.9 FTE: Friday–Sunday, 08:00–20:30
  • 1.0 FTE: Monday–Thursday, 10:00–20:30 (evening shift differential eligible)

About The Role

  • Provide high‑quality CT and X‑ray imaging services for our community.
  • Enjoy variety and the satisfaction of thorough, patient‑first care.
  • Benefit from balanced schedules that offer blocks of days off—perfect for exploring Alaska.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform routine and specialized CT procedures with clinical precision and compassionate patient interaction.
  • Integrate prior imaging, labs, patient history, and EMR to optimize each exam.
  • Consult with interpreting/ordering physicians to ensure the most appropriate examination.
  • Educate and support patients before and after examinations; assist with training colleagues and students.
  • Adapt exams in real time to meet patient needs and resolve problems as they arise.
  • Operate CT systems for data acquisition, reconstruction, documentation, and quality control for optimal images.
  • Apply the ALARA principle for radiation safety; evaluate pregnancy status as indicated.
  • Perform interventional procedures using appropriate equipment, supplies, and AORN standards.
  • Support additional patient care duties within scope, training, and licensure.

What You’ll Bring

  • Graduation from an accredited radiologic technology program (required).
  • Demonstrated venipuncture competency.
  • PACS/RIS proficiency required; experience with EPIC RIS, FUJI, and IntelliSpace PACS preferred.
  • ARRT (R) certification (required).
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification at hire (required).

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary range: $50.84–$71.77 (dependent on education, training, experience, collective bargaining, and seniority).
  • Low‑cost medical/dental/vision coverage.
  • 403(b) retirement with employer base and match.
  • Generous PTO.
  • Employer‑paid life and disability insurance with optional buy‑ups.
  • Tuition reimbursement.
  • Wellness benefits and expanded EAP/mental health programs.

Life in Ketchikan

  • Alaska’s “First City”—gateway to the Inside Passage—known for breathtaking scenery, abundant wildlife, and endless outdoor adventure (hiking, fishing, boating).
  • Friendly, family‑oriented community with rich Native culture and a strong local economy.
  • Island living—accessible by jet or ferry; short flight to Seattle keeps you connected to the mainland.
  • Excellent schools and a welcoming atmosphere make it a wonderful place to call home.

Who Thrives Here

  • CT Technologists who love the idea of island living and the adventure that comes with it.
  • Professionals who embrace unique weather patterns and the beauty of Alaska’s rugged landscape.
  • Individuals who are flexible with housing options, understanding that choices may be limited but the experience is unmatched.
  • Individuals who enjoy small-town living, where you know your patients and your neighbors.
  • Those seeking a long-term role in a community where your work truly matters.
