The Life Enrichment Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing daily activities that promote the overall well-being of residents. This role ensures a vibrant and engaging community environment that supports residents' social, intellectual, physical, mental, and spiritual needs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
- Plan and schedule a minimum of 5 hours of daily activities, plus 1 hour of evening programming per level of care.
- Develop diverse activities that foster resident engagement across social, cognitive, physical, and spiritual dimensions.
- In memory care, implement a structured daily routine featuring familiar, comforting, and purposeful activities.
- Support new residents with onboarding and integration through personalized orientation and encouragement.
- Create, post, and distribute a monthly activity calendar that clearly outlines daily events.
- Promote and track resident participation in both group and individual activities.
- Design and distribute a monthly newsletter and maintain digital activity displays.
- Keep activity areas, equipment, and supplies organized and clean.
- Coordinate and manage volunteers, entertainers, and contracted instructors.
- Foster positive relationships between residents and their families, team members, local schools, businesses, and other community partners.
- Supervise Activity Assistant (if applicable) and encourage interdisciplinary staff participation in activities.
- Train new team members on the activity program's goals and procedures.
- Develop and maintain resident profiles, including life history, interests, preferences, and family connections.
- Manage activity budget responsibly, seeking approval for special expenditures.
- Set annual goals and evaluate progress quarterly, incorporating resident, family, and staff feedback.
- Contribute to community social media platforms.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing team to support events and outreach.
- Safely drive the community vehicle for outings and scenic drives.
- Coordinate recognition of residents' birthdays and anniversaries.
- Adhere to Quality Assurance Program standards.
- Collaborate effectively with other Leadership Team members.
- Communicate clearly and professionally regarding plans, concerns, and resident needs.

- Maintain reliable attendance and be present during assigned working hours.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of resident-centered care and wellness programming.
- Familiarity with aging populations, particularly those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Creative approach to activity planning for both groups and individuals.
- Proficiency in Life Enrichment software, Microsoft Office, and social media tools.
- Flexible and adaptive in a dynamic, resident-focused environment.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, and participate in the Manager on Duty rotation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Valid driver's license and ability to drive community vehicles.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
EducationExperience
- Degree in Recreational Therapy, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Prior experience in activity planning or engagement required; senior living or geriatric experience preferred.
