Overview
Peaceful Passage Hospice is a newly established hospice organization seeking to hire a dedicated and experienced Medical Director to lead our healthcare team and oversee the delivery of high-quality medical services. The hospice Medical Director is accountable for overseeing the clinical aspects of the hospice program. This role includes acting as a medical advisor to the interdisciplinary team, supporting the care provided by attending physicians, and ensuring consistent delivery of hospice medical services along with effective symptom management.
Duties
- Be responsible for the direction and quality of the medical component of the care provided to patients by the hospice care team.
- Acting as a medical resource person to the IDG
- Assuring overall continuity of the hospice medical service
- Assuring that the patient receives appropriate measures of care
- Proven experience in medical management within a healthcare setting, demonstrating leadership in clinical operations and quality improvement
- Assuring overall continuity of the hospice medical services
Experience
- Must be a physician (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), licensed to practice medicine in the State of GA
- Board Certified in a related speciality and has expertise in the medical care of terminally ill individuals
- Be licensed in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Composite State Board of Medical Examiners
- Must have at least one year of experience on a hospice care team or in another setting managing the care of terminally ill patients
- Have admission privileges at one or more hospitals commonly serving patients in the hospice's geographical area
