What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inpatient Tech Group Home PRN position at Peace River Center?
This is a non-degreed position that will be part of a treatment team that effectively works in a residential setting with people with severe and persistent mental illnesses in an effort to help them with their recovery. Must be able to pass a Level 2 background clearance from Florida Division of Children and Families.

Essential Duties/Requirements/Activities:
- Must be able to comply with all Peace River Center policy and procedures
- Have a home phone or alternative means of communication
- Attend all scheduled work hours and trainings
- Assist in the operation/running of the facility, including cleaning if necessary
- Able to use good judgment and decision making skills
- Able to maintain a professional relationship with persons we serve
- Transport clients as needed
- Assist in providing nutritional needs to residents
- Supervise residents during medications and activities
- Complete all daily tasks as assigned. Complete all shift responsibilities assigned to specific shift, be it 7-3, 3-11 or 11-7 shift
- In an emergency or disaster this individual will be required to remain on site around the clock until relief staff arrive and supervisory staff give permission to leave
- Keep up with daily and monthly written documentation as required including but not limited to Critical Incident Reports, bi weekly notes, missing person reports and complete advocate duties
- Insuring residents meals are prepared in accordance with the menu prepared by the nutritionist. Staff must follow all requirements of joint commission for food prep and handling along with having Serv safe training by PRC staff. Residents may assist with food prep and clean up under the guidance of the residential staff
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Experience:
At least 1 year experience working with persons with a mental illness helpful but not required
Training:
- Must able to successfully complete CPR , First Aid and ACT trainings.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Must possess basic understanding of human nature
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills and able to effectively deal with change
- Assist clients in establishing and obtaining personal goals and must be able to react to change in a positive manner
- Have or be willing to learn basic computer skills

Transportation:
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be at least 25 years of age
- Have a current Florida driver’s license and keep current

Technology Requirement:
As an employee of Peace River Center, if you are not assigned a company-issued phone, you will be required to authorize the use of the Microsoft Authenticator app on your personal mobile device. This is necessary to access our payroll and communication system, Paycor, and Microsoft email as examples. This will ensure secure and efficient communication with the organization.

Work Environment:
Fast paced work environment. The populations cared for will include patients who are confused, delusional, irrational, agitated, or uncooperative. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must understand and accept the possibility of exposure to inside environmental conditions such as communicable diseases and physical/verbal abuse from an out of control patient/client.
Office Environment
