Kitchen Assistant

Job Description:We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Peace Lutheran Ministries. As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our kitchen operations and ensuring a smooth workflow for our early childhood center and K-8 school. This position offers part-time hours initially, with the potential to transition to full-time for the right candidate. Responsibilities:- Assist in food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment- Assist in receiving and storing food supplies- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations- Adhere to company policies and procedures Requirements:- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred, but not required- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally- Excellent time management and organizational skills- Flexibility to work part-time hours initially, with the potential to transition to full-time- Must be available to work weekdays (M-F) from 10 AM to 3 PM initially- Must pass a background check as a condition of employment We offer a positive work environment, competitive pay, and opportunities for growth and development.
