What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Start UPK Teacher Assistant, Syracuse west side position at PEACE Inc.?
STARTING PAY RANGE: $18.93 - $19.45 PER HOUR
SCHEDULE: FULL-TIME WEEKDAYS, 7:30am - 3:30pm, 45 WEEKS PER YEAR
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preschool Child Development Associate Credential OR formal education equivalent to at least 6 completed college credit hours in a field related to Early Childhood Education, plus at least one year of experience working with preschool-aged children in a group setting;
Also requires:
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills with adults and young children
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Basic computer skills
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Ensure that all children assigned to class are supervised at all times. Perform regular counts of children assigned to ensure that all children are accounted for.
2. Assist in establishing and maintaining a safe, healthy, learning environment.
3. Assist in advancing physical and intellectual competence.
4. Assist in supporting social and emotional development and providing positive guidance.
5. Assist in establishing positive and productive relationships with families.
6. Assist with lesson planning, record keeping, observations, and individualizations.
