Job Summary
In this vital role, you will work alongside another teacher and a teacher aide to foster a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment tailored specifically for up to 8 children under the age of three in a classroom setting. Responsibilities
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning for infants or toddlers.
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through positive behavior management and caregiving strategies.
- Conduct regular assessments of each child's progress and communicate findings with families to foster collaborative support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, attendance, and developmental milestones.
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with colleagues, specialists, and families to support children with disabilities or special needs through individualized care plans.
Required Qualifications: One year of experience working with children under age three in a group setting, plus demonstrated formal education in a relevant field in any of the following categories (starting pay rate determined by level of education completed):
Level I – Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate credential, or BOCES Early Childhood Education certificate, or equivalent.
Level II – Completed two-year college degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with at least 18 credits in Early Childhood Education.
Level III – Completed four-year college degree in Early Childhood Education, or in a related field with at least 24 credits in Early Childhood Education.
Pay: $20.98 - $23.03 per hour
