Founding Nurse Educator – Core A & Core B Trainer (RN/LPN)

Peace Haven Residential Services is a growing Indiana Medicaid Waiver provider dedicated to delivering exceptional, person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
We are seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as our Founding Nurse Educator. This individual will play an important role in helping us build our training program by providing Indiana-approved Core A & Core B Medication Administration training for our Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
This position is currently focused on teaching. As our agency continues to grow, there may be opportunities to expand into additional nursing responsibilities, such as wellness visits, clinical support, and staff education for those interested.

Position Details
- PRN / As Needed
- Independent Contractor (1099)
- Flexible scheduling
- Training classes are generally held in Carmel, Indiana, with flexibility based on scheduling needs.
- Competitive contractor compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Teach Indiana Core A & Core B Medication Administration curriculum.
- Conduct required skills demonstrations and competency evaluations.
- Administer and evaluate written examinations.
- Maintain accurate training records and required documentation.
- Ensure all instruction complies with current Indiana BDDS/DDRS requirements.
- Foster an engaging, supportive learning environment for new and existing DSPs.
- Communicate training outcomes and recommendations with agency leadership.
Qualifications
- Active Indiana RN or LPN license in good standing.
- Current Indiana Core A & Core B Train-the-Trainer certification required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Previous teaching, training, or staff education experience preferred.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and high training standards.
