The Senior Business Systems Analyst (Sr. BSA) is a strategic delivery enabler responsible for leading complex analysis efforts across enterprise data platforms and cross-functional initiatives. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, translating business strategy into scalable, well-structured, and testable requirements that drive measurable business value.The Sr. BSA for the Enterprise Data Team plays a critical role in strengthening product delivery maturity, improving sprint predictability, mentoring junior analysts, and ensuring enterprise solutions are architecturally sound, integration-aware, and aligned to governance standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery efforts for complex, cross-platform initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and enterprise systems.
- Translate strategic business objectives into structured epics, features, and detailed user stories.
- Define functional and non-functional requirements including performance, security, compliance, and data considerations.
- Evaluate upstream and downstream system impacts, integrations, and enterprise architecture implications.
- Partner with Product Managers and Product Owners to shape solution approaches before development begins.
- Own backlog quality for assigned product areas, including but not limited to Marketing, Finance, Epic systems, ensuring stories are clear, testable, and value-driven.
- Facilitate backlog refinement sessions and drive clarity on scope, sequencing, and dependencies.
- Anticipate risks, identify gaps, and proactively resolve ambiguity before sprint execution.
- Serve as a quality gate to ensure stories meet enterprise standards prior to development.
- Perform advanced functional validation and scenario-based testing for complex features.
- Lead UAT coordination and business validation for major releases.
- Ensure acceptance criteria fully align to business outcomes and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Enterprise Data engineering and QA teams to resolve defects and clarify requirements.
- Analyze current-state processes and design optimized future-state workflows.
- Identify automation, AI, and workflow improvement opportunities across enterprise platforms.
- Support KPI definition and ensure requirements are traceable to measurable business outcomes.
- Contribute to post-release evaluation and continuous improvement efforts.
- Mentor Business Systems Analysts and provide guidance on structured analysis techniques.
- Improve documentation standards, templates, and analysis best practices.
- Act as a subject matter expert for Enterprise data platform, not limited to Marketing, Finance, Epic systems.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders during complex decision-making discussions.
Required
- 6 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or related enterprise IT role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience leading analysis efforts for complex, cross-functional enterprise initiatives.
- Strong experience writing epics, features, and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
- Experience working in Agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe environments).
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate integrations, data impacts, and system dependencies.
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare, dental, or other regulated industries.
- Experience with Epic (EHR) systems, including experience analyzing workflows, reporting structures, and data integrations.
- Working knowledge of enterprise systems, APIs, integrations, and cloud-based applications.
- Experience in data-driven environments such as Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), analytics, or reporting platforms.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL with the ability to query, validate, and analyze data.
- Experience working in Snowflake or similar cloud-based data warehouse platforms
- Working knowledge of APIs, integrations, and cloud-based architecture principles.
- Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
- Experience defining KPIs and supporting value realization tracking.
- Interest in progressing toward Product Owner or Product Manager roles.
