PDS Defense is seeking a CONTRACT Software Verification Engineer (Onsite - Cedar Rapids, IA)
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (100% Onsite - Non-Negotiable)
Project: 2-4 Month
Start Date: Immediate Need / Hiring ASAP
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Potential Saturday hours as project demands.
Pay 93.00 per hour
Position Overview
We are seeking multiple Software Verification Engineers to support several critical avionics software projects focused on:
- Product Line Display Software
- Display Head Software
- Touch Screen Software
This is a fast-paced development and verification environment where engineers will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop, execute, review, and approve software verification artifacts. Team collaboration is essential, including interaction with both onsite personnel and global engineering teams.
The team currently begins each day with a daily stand-up meeting and is working Saturdays as needed to support aggressive project schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop software verification artifacts including test cases and test procedures.
- Perform requirements-based verification activities in accordance with DO-178C standards.
- Execute and debug tests on embedded software running on hardware test platforms.
- Support low-level software integration and verification efforts.
- Collaborate with requirements owners, reviewers, and test environment teams.
- Participate in peer reviews and approval processes for verification documentation.
- Work effectively with both onsite and remote engineering teams, including international stakeholders.
Required Qualifications (5 Years)
- DO-178C DAL A or DAL B Requirements-Based Verification experience
- Low-Level Software Integration and Verification experience, including unit testing
- Embedded C development experience
- Minimum 5 years of relevant aerospace or embedded software verification experience
Preferred Qualifications
- DO-178C DAL A or DAL B Requirements Development experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other STEM discipline preferred
- Candidates without a STEM degree will be considered if they possess the required technical experience and qualifications
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced software verification engineer with strong DO-178C expertise, embedded C knowledge, and hands-on testing experience in a highly regulated aerospace environment. They should be comfortable working onsite, collaborating across teams, and contributing immediately to an accelerated project schedule.
