Job Description for: General Shop Labor/Driver

Job Title: General Shop Labor/Driver

Class: Full time –Direct Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Reports to: Shop Supervisor

Responsibility: Pick up or deliver materials as required by production schedules and PDQ Management Team. May pick-up or deliver to/from customers, vendors and suppliers or any other locations as required by management. General labor around the shop.

Job Duties

· Help around the shop as needed.

· Use power tools as needed.

· Maintain a clean work environment.

· Empty shop floor and outdoor trash as needed.

· Operate Laser etch machine as needed.

· Operate floor scrubber and mops to clean shop floor as needed.

· Observe all safe driving laws as required by state or federal law, including seat belt and noise violations.

· Be professional and courteous to all customers, vendors, suppliers, shipping and receiving, and all PDQ personnel in the course of the business day

· Notify Supervision of all shortages or other issues that you encounter on a daily basis that could prevent you from getting your job(s) accomplished timely

· Maintain company issued vehicles in good repair and cleanliness at all times, report need for repairs, oil changes, tire issues to Supervisor immediately

· No non-employee passengers should be allowed to ride in or drive company vehicles

· Maintain good driving record and valid driver’s license at all times

· Listen for any sounds that may indicate a malfunction with company vehicles or machines

· Must always work safely

· Able to operate horizontal and vertical band saws

· Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, drawings and cut lists

·Load, unload, and move raw materials using forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment

· Any additional duties as directed by PDQ Management team

Qualifications

· Must be a team player with the ability to communicate issues and problems to others

· Must enjoy a fast-paced manufacturing environment, results-oriented and self-motivated

· Committed to continuous improvement principles with the goals of the company in mind at all times

· Detail Oriented with excellent eyesight

· Capable of work that requires concentration and physical effort

· Must be able to stand for long periods of time

· Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds consistently and often

Special Circumstances

· Must be able to navigate on all types of road conditions and follow safe and appropriate driving practices at all times

· Must be willing to help around the shop at all times.

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
