Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for accounting activity across multiple PDQ Industries business units with a primary initial focus on accounts payable and accounts receivable. The ideal candidate is driven, detail-oriented, and looking to grow into greater responsibility as the company expands.
Essential Functions
- Process accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, approvals, and timely vendor payments.
- Perform accounts receivable, including cash application and aging review.
- Assist with close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and annual audit.
- Prepare supporting schedules and ad hoc reports for management review.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
- Ensure accurate, organized records to support audits, tax filings, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, workflows, and efficiency across the businesses.
- Partner with operations and leadership across business units to resolve accounting questions and discrepancies.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as the role and company grow.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of progressive accounting experience; multi-entity or multi-business exposure a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; ERP experience preferred.
- CPA or progress toward CPA a plus but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with non-finance teams.
- Self-motivated and driven, with a strong desire to grow into greater responsibility.
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
- Frequent sitting for extended periods of time.
- Noise level is typically low to moderate, consistent with a standard office environment.
- Frequent use of hands for typing, writing, and operating standard office equipment (phone, keyboard, mouse).
- Occasional bending, stooping, reaching, or kneeling to access files or supplies.
- Ability to communicate clearly (talk/hear) in person and by phone.
- Occasional need to enter plant floor areas which require proper PPE.
