Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Batch Plant Operator to oversee the daily operations of our concrete batching facility. Duties
- Operate and monitor concrete batching equipment, including mixers, conveyors, and silos, to produce consistent quality concrete according to specifications
- Manage the loading and unloading of raw materials such as cement, aggregates, and additives using forklifts and other heavy machinery
- Conduct routine inspections of batching plant machinery, perform basic maintenance, and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimize downtime
- Ensure safety protocols are followed at all times, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety procedures
- Assist with fabrication tasks such as welding or machining when necessary to maintain or repair plant equipment
- Maintain accurate records of production data, material usage, and quality control checks for reporting purposes
- Support warehouse functions by organizing inventory, managing supplies, and ensuring a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts, concrete mixers, or similar machinery in a manufacturing or construction setting
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs or adjustments on batching equipment and related machinery
- Familiarity with concrete forming, finishing techniques, and related construction processes is highly desirable
- Experience with fabrication, welding, machining or other fabrication skills is a plus
- Strong understanding of safety standards within manufacturing or construction environments
- Warehouse experience preferred for inventory management and logistical support
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining attention to detail
