Inside Salesperson - Spanish Fork, UT

Selling and purchasing metal and other requested materials to O.E.M.'s, fabricators, distributors, and other metal users.

This is a non-exempt, hourly position with monthly commission based on sales performance.

**Function in the Job**

Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.

**Job Function**

• Confer with customers by telephone, fax, email, and in person to provide information about products or services, take or enter orders, or obtain details of complaints
• Figure material usage according to customer requirements and requests
• Calculate and quote pricing of materials and processing to customers
• Prepare sales contracts for orders obtained
• Prepare purchase orders for orders obtained
• Review all orders entered for accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures
• Enter all orders and buyouts into the computer system
• Monitor all orders to assure orders are delivered to customer as promised
• Contact customer to relay any delivery issues in a timely manner
• Initiate and follow up on all customer service issues to closure
• Arrange for inspection, return and credit of material which is non-compliant or otherwise rejected by the customer
• Monitor stock levels and communicate with the appropriate personnel to assure levels are maintained
• Work with Purchasing to sell material which is slow moving and would otherwise be scrapped
• Create and maintain customer quote and special requirement file
• Review sales figures and reports for changes in customer activity and profit margin
• Communicate information gathered from customers regarding service, pricing, etc., to Outside Sales
• Review weekly sales reports to stay abreast of information relayed by customers to Outside Sales
• Maximize gross profit
• Entertain customers as requested
  
  

**Required Skills**

Knowledge

• Math Skills - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Interpret drawings - Ability to read simple customer part drawings and sketches to provide quotations.
• Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service. This includes customer needs, assessment, meeting quality standards for service, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

• Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. The ability to write reports, business correspondence. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
