Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff with patient care activities, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
• Perform vital signs monitoring such as pulse oximetry, blood pressure, temperature, and heart rate assessments.
• Collect specimens for laboratory testing, including blood draws (phlebotomy), urine samples, and other specimen collection tasks.
• Operate medical equipment safely and accurately, including EKG machines for cardiac rhythm analysis and cardiac event monitors.
• Support catheterization procedures, IV insertions, and aseptic techniques to ensure infection control standards are maintained.
• Document clinical information accurately using electronic health record systems and communicate patient status effectively to the healthcare team.
• Assist with emergency responses by performing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and basic life support when needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to infection control protocols and hospital policies.
• Support patients with mobility and positioning while practicing proper heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury.
• Contribute to the overall hospital experience by demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and attention to detail in every task.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hospital or acute care settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and clinical information systems.
• Certification or training in basic life support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as EKG interpretation or suturing are advantageous.
• Hands-on experience with venipuncture (blood draws), phlebotomy, specimen collection, and venipuncture techniques.
• Familiarity with medical equipment operation including cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, and other diagnostic tools.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work effectively in fast-paced hospital environments such as emergency rooms or intensive care units.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams and provide excellent patient care.
• Demonstrated understanding of infection control practices like aseptic technique and maintaining sterile fields.

Pay: $24.07 - $28.98 per hour
