Material Expediter, Warren MI

PCSI is looking for a Material Expediter. We seek a motivated, friendly team member to engage vendors and execute purchases to support our in-house facility maintenance team. The right person will be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask. This position will report to the Resource Manager at Detroit Arsenal in Warren, MI. The typical work hours will be Monday- Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Rate Of Pay

$32.07 per hour, plus $5.95 for health and welfare (union position) with annual increases, and benefits.

What You'll Do As a Material Expediter

• Utilizes documents and spreadsheets to determine materials requirements or priorities, such as:
• Purchase requests
• Vendor quotes
• Purchase Order Log
• Site Scheduling Matrix
• Invoices Tracking and Payment
• Work Orders
• Inventory Reports
• Work with vendors to prepare cost estimates through email, phone calls, and online research
• Orders material, inventory stock, equipment, tools, schedule/track rentals, and other general items; also fills orders or issues supplies from stock
• Inspection of received materials for accuracy and condition assessment.
• Administrative and organizational responsibilities to include:
• Sortly (property management software):
• Materials Inventory (FIFO)
• Property Inventory (Tools & Equipment)
• Product or Material information
• Reports on usage history, inventory transactions, spoilage, or damage to stock
• Records:
• Purchasing packets
• Inventory transactions
• Hazmat label requests
• Performs inventory cycle counts and reports findings to the Resource Manager
• Answer incoming calls, schedule pickups, deliveries, or distribution of supplies, and provide status information to expedite the flow of materials and meet production schedules
• Locates and distributes materials to specified production areas and technicians manually or using a handcart, hand truck, or forklift
• Follows procedures for maintaining high standards of quality and reliability of the company's inventory system
• Ability to operate a vehicle onsite and offsite to pick up materials and deliver to various locations.
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in supply and logistics preferred.
• Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, emphasizing Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and Excel.

Working Condition

• Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
• The ability to work outside in inclement weather is needed, and to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.
• Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a good driving record.
• Must obtain and maintain security clearance, including a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) investigation.
