Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Powder Coat Supervisor to lead our industrial finishing operations. In this role, you will oversee the powder coating process, ensuring high-quality application, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, manufacturing experience, and leadership skills to coordinate daily activities within the powder coating department. Duties
- Supervise the powder coating process, including preparation, application, and curing of coatings on various metal components.
- Coordinate materials handling using forklifts and cranes to ensure timely supply of parts for coating and assembly.
- Monitor and maintain equipment such as airless paint sprayers, power tools, and precision measuring instruments for optimal performance.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industrial painting standards and environmental regulations.
- Powder coat setup including changing powders, adjustments to powder guns, etc.
- 4 stage pretreatment wash system (titrations and maintaining proper chemical levels for optimum cleanliness and adhesion).
- Pretreatment oven and cure oven operation.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness, surface finish, and adherence to specifications.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, materials usage, and equipment maintenance.
Experience
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on industrial or construction painting.
- Powder Coating experience.
- Supervising teams of at least 6 people.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, and warehouse equipment for materials handling.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and warehouse management practices.
- Knowledge of materials handling procedures within a manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Prior supervisory experience in a production or finishing department preferred.
- Understanding of safety standards related to industrial painting and equipment operation.
