Shift: 1st, 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
Salary: $100,000-$120,000 (Based on Experience/Interviewing) (Potential for OT)
Essential Functions:
- Direct and supervise Cincinnati area maintenance crew engaged in facilities’ maintenance, shop operations, and any other personnel assigned during plant overhaul or capital improvement projects.
- Responsible for the stocking and withdrawal of all inventories under the authority of the Cincinnati Maintenance Department. Ensure that the storage and work areas are always orderly and presentable. Forward receiving records to plant managers.
- Assist the Accounting Department in taking of regularly scheduled inventory of all company owned stock for which plant maintenance is responsible.
- Responsible for the application, care, operation and condition of all department maintenance vehicles and equipment assigned to the area. Report any problems to Ready Mix Operations Manager and Plant Managers.
- Follow the schedule as outlined in the service manual regarding the lubrication and general overhaul of equipment during the winter months. Set up and carry out regular service of all plant and non- mobile equipment within responsibility.
- Conduct frequent inspections of all facilities and non-mobile equipment to maintain and pursue a preventive maintenance program to keep down time to a minimum.
- Verify the ordering of parts and inventory is complete and up to date.
- Procure miscellaneous supplies and parts from local sources as required in special cases where unforeseen needs must be quickly met.
- Assume full authority for drafting assistance of other plant workers to aid in emergency repairs, with the approval of Plant Managers.
- Instruct appropriate personnel in ready mix and terminal operations in proper maintenance and operation of non-mobile equipment. Report on the overloading or mishandling of equipment that comes under the department’s jurisdiction to appropriate Plant Managers.
- Reinforce the importance of reporting problems of any nature including safety, QC, operations, and anything that could impact customer satisfaction to employees.
- Assist Management in developing annual operating budgets for plant maintenance as directed.
- Maintain an active role in the safety program for prevention of personal injuries and damage to equipment. Ensure procedures for handling injured personnel and accidents as set forth by the Safety Director are properly followed.
- Conduct annual plant surveys of all operating facilities. Submit itemized list of all labor and materials required for the plant overhaul to Managers.
- Supervise all the plant maintenance activities including acquisition of materials, completion of directed work projects, schedule coordination, and delivery arrangements.
- Reinforce all QC aspects of concrete production.
- Prepare parts inventory report, work orders, and special reports on equipment problems such as misuse or non-maintenance causes.
- Prepare accident reports as required by Safety Director.
- Ability to pull body weight to climb in/out and on/off equipment; may be required to work in high (100ft) and confined spaces.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintenance and heavy equipment operator experience required.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills. Supervisory experience preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
- Workdays are Monday through Friday, possibly Saturday. Some evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel to company subsidiaries and to business meetings may be necessary. This position requires up to 20% travel.
