Our Mission: Enable individual persons who have serious mental illness, co-occurring substance use disorder and/or a dual diagnosis of SMI and IDD live a life that is meaningful to her or him in the community on terms she/he defines.

Title: Residential Advisor

Location: Mohnton, PA

Summary of Job Duties:

This position will develop, implement, and report training/treatment plan for assigned members, participate in crisis management system, program activities and supervision, and provide training and supervision in activities in activities of daily living for assigned clients. They will monitor the home for safety and cleanliness and support members

Specific Responsibilities:

• Implement and document member interventions and progress relative to member’s care/recovery plan
• Provide supervision for assigned member activities and trips
• Provide training in and supervision of activities of daily living with members
• Participate in groups as assigned
• Provide individual support for assigned members
• Provide specific training to members relevant to their assessed skills deficits and opportunities for growth
• Conduct and document member face to face observation per Policy and Procedures
• Conduct and document assigned safety checks per Policy and Procedures
• Prepare shift notes for assigned members
• Monitor and document self-administration of medications by members
• Provide and document observed alcohol and drug screens per P and P
• Provide support and follow up on treatment directives per program clinical staff
• Complete all trainings and continuing education requirement
• Support community with ADL and IADL activities, at times working hand over hand, and at times doing the majority of the work.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Performance Expectations

· Staff member will participate in a multidisciplinary treatment team and will support and implement interventions and clinical directives as directed by the Psychiatrist the Clinician or the Team.

· Staff member will demonstrate at ALL times in their work with Members, compassion, and concern when supporting a Member through embracing our organization's Mission and Core Values.

· Staff will approach Member engagement from a non-judgmental stance understanding that a Member's behavior is driven by past experience, which may include trauma.

· Staff will treat and speak to Members with supportive kindness even when a Member demonstrates intense behavioral or emotional actions. Staff will show Members dignity and respect for their values and lifestyle. 

· Staff will seek out appropriate support, consultation with Clinician or Psychiatrist, in conjunction with the Program Director or obtain supervision, when they are uncertain about how to respond or support a Member effectively.

· Staff will report back to the treatment Team, Clinician and Psychiatrist, any observations of Member behavior that suggests Member may need additional treatment interventions and/or support.

· Staff will engage with all external parties/individuals with professionalism and with a positive customer service approach, understanding that they are representing the organization at all times

Qualifications:

• RAs will have at least two years’ experience in therapeutic community and/or psychiatric care. Persons having a Bachelor’s Degree may have one year of experience.
• RA will have a valid driver’s license in good standing
• RA must exhibit flexibility in scheduling, as scheduled work hours are subject to change with little notice.

• Valid Divers license
