What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping & Receiving Clerk - Mold Base position at PCS Company?
Principle Responsibilities
- Completes related computer entries and documentation.
- Unloads supplies, materials, and finished goods at appropriate area (receiving or plant) and moves them to production or storage areas carefully and safely. Restocks shelves as needed.
- Reviews damaged goods and corrects or refers problems accordingly.
- Ensures that receiving functions are completed in accordance with Company standards and procedures.
- Checks receipts for proper quantities and item numbers.
- Forwards appropriate documentation to accounts payable.
- Picks up and delivers goods as needed.
- Picks orders based on sales order packing slips.
- Verifies and packs orders for shipment.
- Ships sales orders in accordance with sales order instructions.
- Prepares pallets and crates for proper product shipping by weighing, banding, strapping, assembling crate and inserting foam.
- Backflush orders and issue plates or components that were missed on sales order to ensure proper inventory levels are maintained.
- Maintain Daily Shipment Log spreadsheet
- Scan and save shipping information for accounting audit purposes
- Order shipping supplies as required. Crates, bubble wrap, foam, rags, tape, etc.
- Conducts cycle counts inventories of mold plates. Ensures that all goods are appropriately packaged and labeled before storage.
- Follows established safety and quality standards.
- Meets management established service goals.
- Assists other employees as needed.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant problems.
- Completes special projects as assigned.
- Cross training as required by management.
- May spend 1-2 hours per day manufacturing cut-to-length pins as required.
Skills Required
- Well organized and attentive to detail. Strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of JDE and Ship It
- Experience operating a stand up or sit-down Hilo
- Knowledge of freight carries policies and procedures
- Integrity with ability to keep information confidential.
- Knowledge of receiving and shipping procedures and standards.
- Understanding of related computer applications.
- Physical Strength – must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 40 pounds or lighter.
Education/Certification:
High school graduate.
Work Experience
One to two years of equivalent experience.
