Principle Responsibilities

  • Develop engineering CAD data, including 3D models and detailed 2D drawings, to support manufacturing and quality assurance.
  • Manage product revisions and updates throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform in-depth product analysis to ensure durability, performance, and ease of use.
  • Conduct tests to evaluate product functionality, performance, and longevity, leveraging both internal resources and external partnerships.
  • Proactively suggest and implement product improvements based on feedback and performance data.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Quality Control, and Manufacturing teams to optimize product design and ensure high-quality production.
  • Create application materials, including installation instructions for catalogs and the website, as well as reference data for customers.
  • Provide technical support and training to Sales, Customer Service teams, and customers.
  • Conduct training sessions for internal teams as needed and maintain comprehensive FAQ databases for each product.
  • Train interns and junior engineers to prepare them for future roles as associate engineers.
  • Occasional travel required.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Technical Expertise: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, particularly in mold manufacturing and injection molding. Experience or a strong understanding of various machining processes is essential. Knowledge of heat treatment and coatings is a plus.
  • Engineering Drawings: Proficient in engineering drawing standards, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), surface finishes, and other key parameters required for manufacturing.
  • CAD Proficiency: Advanced skills in SolidWorks CAD for creating 3D models and 2D drawings.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Experience managing product revisions from concept through design, testing, and production.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation, and overcoming design challenges.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality Control, and Marketing.
  • Documentation: Excellent organizational skills for maintaining accurate engineering documentation, specifications, and other product-related records.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear technical documents and deliver effective training sessions.
  • Attention to Detail: High attention to detail and quality, ensuring that products meet industry standards and company goals.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to evolving product requirements and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Integrity: Highly trusted to protect confidential information and sensitive company plans.

 

 

Education

Technical degree or equivalent experience.

 

Work Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience in a role related to the job requirements.
