As a Heavy Equipment Operator for our Denver District, you will contribute to our team by: Fine grade skid steer and mini excavator experience required. Reports to work on time, ready to work safely and learn. Certified Traffic Control Person based on project needs. Safely operate heavy equipment to excavate, move, load and grade earthwork and other materials. Minimum 2 years’ experience operating excavator, mini excavator, skid steer, and loader Grading experience, must be able to read and understand grade stake Experience working on and around live underground utilities Perform various activities including but not limited to roadway demolition, loading trucks, grading, excavation, backfilling Perform Daily inspections and advice supervisor if repairs or maintenance is needed. Checking all fluids on a daily basis. Greasing equipment per manufactures recommendations. Performing required housekeeping in the cab, on the windows and on the exterior of the equipment. Operate equipment safely in close proximity to other equipment and crew members Recognize risks and hazards on the jobsite and adhere to company safety policies and procedures. Ensure equipment is operated safely within its capabilities and limitations. Maintain a clean and safe jobsite. Perform other duties as required. What you will bring to the role: Must be 18 year of age or older Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in civil construction preferred Familiar with field concepts, practices and procedures Knowledge and skill in operating specified heavy equipment High regard for safety and pride for quality of work Self-motivated and team player Able to multi-task, show initiative and ask questions as needed Able to follow directions to ensure completion of daily tasks Have a high degree of flexibility in a changing environment Must have reliable transportation Strength to perform average lifting of up to 50 pounds, from the ground to above head. Should be able to navigate through the worksite on a daily basis Occasionally climbs up and down ladders, scaffolding, and stairs. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, in confined spaces, high places, and under pressure. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. The salary range for this position is between $24.00 and $38.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
