The Senior Network Engineer role will design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, WIFI, and overall network configurations and security. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our enterprise networks. The Senior Network Engineer will act as a subject matter expert for networking solutions, provide advanced troubleshooting, and collaborate across IT, security, and operations teams. The Senior Network Engineer will ensure all Cybersecurity protocols are met for NIST 800-171 Rev 3 and CMMC Level 2.
Key Responsibilities
- Network Design & Architecture: Design, deploy, and optimize LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-based networks to support business operations and growth.
- Infrastructure Management: Configure, manage, and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, and wireless technologies.
- Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce network security best practices, including segmentation, encryption, and monitoring to ensure compliance with industry standards, such as NIST 800-171 and CMMC Level 2.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Serve as the escalation point for complex networking issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid incident resolution.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor network performance, conduct capacity planning, and implement improvements for scalability and reliability.
- Documentation & Standards: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaboration: Partner with cybersecurity, systems, and application teams to ensure seamless IT operations and integrations.
- Vendor Management: Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with network hardware, software, and service providers.
- Project Management: Manage large-scale projects in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred, but not required).
- Experience: 7 years of professional networking experience with increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years in a senior/lead role.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance; U.S. citizenship required
- Certifications (preferred but not required): CCNP/CCIE, CompTIA Network , Security , or equivalent.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and MPLS.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Palo Alto and Aruba technologies.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, VPNs, NAC, and wireless networking.
- Network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, effective communication, leadership abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
