The Director of Special Programs
Overview:
The Director of Special Programs leads the planning, execution, and evaluation of strategic initiatives that fall outside core business operations but are critical to organizational success. These programs may include Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), employee engagement, leadership development, and community outreach. The role ensures alignment with corporate objectives, manages budgets, and drives measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Strategy & Development
- Design and implement special initiatives that support corporate goals (sustainability projects, employee wellness initiatives).
- Identify emerging trends and propose innovative programs to enhance organizational reputation and employee experience.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure programs comply with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
- Monitor risk factors and implement mitigation strategies.
- Budget & Resource Management
- Develop and manage program budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and ROI..
- Leadership & Team Development
- Lead cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver high-quality programs.
- Mentor program managers and coordinators to build internal capability.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with senior leadership, HR, Marketing, and external partners to align programs with business priorities.
- Represent the company in community events and industry forums.
- Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Establish KPIs and track program outcomes.
- Prepare executive reports and presentations for leadership and board review.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA).
- Experience: 7 years in program management, corporate strategy, or related leadership roles.
- Experience with Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) compliance.
- Experience with GOVCON Procurement standards.
- Experience supporting contract execution, including on-site staff support.
