Position Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all receiving, storage, and shipping operations within the plant to ensure efficient and effective use of resources. This role may also include managing daily rail yard loading operations. The ideal candidate will lead by example, maintain a strong commitment to safety and quality, and work collaboratively with plant and fleet management teams to ensure smooth, reliable warehouse performance.
What You Will Do
- Supervise all receiving, shipping, and warehouse operations, including gin requests and sample orders.
- Oversee daily rail loading operations, ensuring all deadlines, company policies, and safety protocols are met.
- Promote and enforce compliance with all safety procedures; maintain required documentation in coordination with the Plant Manager and Safety Coordinator.
- Assist with facility upkeep, including maintenance of warehouses, grounds, and equipment, and monitor bale condition.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the fire sprinkler system and promptly report any issues to the Plant Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
- Coordinate with the Plant Manager and Fleet Manager on equipment maintenance, repairs, and related expenditures.
- Support continuous improvement in warehouse operations through communication, teamwork, and efficient resource management.
Essential Skills and Background
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
- Equivalent combinations of education, work experience, or certifications will be considered, particularly those demonstrating leadership potential.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.
- Proficiency with basic computer functions, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (training available as needed).
- Competent in the use of phones, email, fax, and standard office equipment (e.g., copiers, tablets, calculators).
- Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
- Valid state driver’s license required (or ability to obtain one before employment).
- Additional certifications will be provided by PCCA-Warehouse as needed.
