Basic Function:
Follow all PCB procedures and forms in compliance to AS 9001. The Manufacturing Engineer I applies their education, experience and expertise in the launch of new product designs into manufacturing, to make process improvements and to solve manufacturing problems.
Qualifications:
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent.
Experience: Internship, Co-Op or equivalent industry project experience.
Physical Demands: Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
Other: Manufacturing processes knowledge Materials, materials processing and metallurgy knowledge. PCB is involved in the development of technology controlled by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations. For the purpose of our compliance with U.S. Export Control laws, U.S. citizenship or permanent resident/green card is required.
Role and Responsibilities:
Promotes teamwork, cooperation and commitment to “Total Customer Satisfaction”.
1. Interprets mechanical drawings, schematics and technical specifications to develop manufacturing work instructions, processes, routers, procedures and test protocols.
2. Conducts prototype manufacturing builds to test and evaluate product and process designs and revisions.
3. Works in close collaboration with other engineering teams, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales and Quality in the launch of new products and the manufacturing support of existing products.
4. Develops and designs basic tools and fixtures, researches and specifies manufacturing equipment and systems.
5. Creates and maintains accurate mechanical drawings, schematics, technical specifications and manufacturing process documentation.
6. Provides documentation on assembly methods and test procedures.
7. Conducts failure analyses to resolve manufacturability or quality issues.
8. Provides technical assistance in matters of products, materials, equipment and processes.
9. May travel up to 5% to visit customers, vendors, suppliers, other company locations, affiliates, attend technical meetings, trade shows or conferences.
10. Performs other related tasks and duties, as assigned.
