What are the responsibilities and job description for the Machinist IV position at PCB Piezotronics, Inc.?
Primary Objective:
The Machinist IV will work from drawings and/or written instructions, set up and operate a variety of manual or CNC machinery and equipment to produce precision parts.
Major Areas of Accountability
- Operates multiple machines at multiple work centers and performs specific machinist functions. Must be able to set up and troubleshoot machines at multiple work centers.
- Ability to prove out new part programs for production. Collaborate with programming/engineering on blueprints and programs.
- Provides instruction, training and leadership to employees in other positions within the Machine Shop.
- Verifies conformance of finished work to ensure compliance to tolerance and company specifications.
- Identifies dull or worn inserts or tools and makes changes as necessary.
- Makes tool offsets as required.
- Completes preventative maintenance as required.
- Regularly uses microscope and other high end measuring equipment to view and inspect parts.
- Performs other related duties as directed.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- High school graduate; or
- GED; or
- BOCES Machine Shop classes; or
- Skilled trade school graduate
Experience
- 3 years of machine shop experience
- Advanced shop math skills
- Advanced blueprint reading skills
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience of CNC/ Manual machines
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience in order of operations
