Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to an individual in need of assistance with daily living activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in various care settings, including home health, assisted living, and group homes. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care, excellent observational skills, and the ability to work effectively with individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities and memory-related conditions.
Duties
- Assist client with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide support in meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the supervising nurse or healthcare professional.
- Implement care plans as directed, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are met.
- Assist client with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for client by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Engage client in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality regarding patient information.
- Document patient observations and any changes in condition accurately.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Previous experience in home health care, senior care, or long-term care settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care practices is advantageous.
- Skills in patient observation and monitoring are essential for ensuring client safety and well-being.
- Experience working with individuals with Cerebella Palsy or other developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is beneficial.
