Division Lead – Land Development

An established and growing engineering firm is seeking a Lead Civil Engineer to direct its civil division. This is a strategic leadership role focused on land development projects with heavy coordination between developers, design teams, and local municipalities. The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and a strong track record of guiding projects through approval processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage land development projects from concept through construction.
• Oversee site/civil design including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and permitting.
• Serve as primary point of contact with private clients, municipal officials, and regulatory agencies.
• Represent clients in public meetings, planning boards, and zoning hearings.
• Supervise and mentor engineering staff, managing workload and quality control.
• Drive business development efforts and help shape the strategic growth of the division.
• Prepare and review project budgets, proposals, and schedules.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE license required.
• 10 years of civil/site engineering experience with a strong focus on private development.
• Proven experience working with municipal planning and zoning boards.
• Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and applicable land development software.
