Position Overview

PBS’ Technology, Products & Services is responsible for the development of infrastructure, development of Applications, and Distribution of content. This role is to join PBS as Sr. Director of the AI Center of Excellence, and team’s mission is to be an advisory group that supports and nurtures the growth and of AI in all PBS’ business.

Reporting to the VP of Product Development, this individual will lead the strategy for utilizing AI technologies to enhance the quality and actionability of our content internal business. As the Product lead of the team, it will be your responsibility to understand AI technologies, work with PBS business units to understand their needs, develop AI solutions to facilitate their work, prioritize work, and develop roadmaps for executing strategic initiatives. We are looking for candidates that can quickly understand new products and workflows and understand what sort of change management is required to successfully enhance a business unit.

Key Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Product Strategy & Roadmap: Define and drive the vision for PBS
• AI Enablement & Consultation: Advise internal teams on AI-driven opportunities and best practices
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Individual will work with a broad array of departments within PBS
• Data-Driven Optimization: Utilize analytics, user testing, and experimentation to enhance AI product performance and user engagement.
• Stakeholder Communication: Translate AI capabilities into clear product strategies and updates for leadership and teams.
• Ethical AI & Compliance: Ensure AI products align with company policies and responsible AI practices.
• Market & Technology Research: Stay informed on AI advancements and industry trends to drive innovation.

Requirements For Success

• 10 years of product management or related leadership experience, with at least 5 years’ operating at a senior leadership level
• Demonstrated experience defining and executing enterprise-level strategy across multiple business units
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives through influence rather than direct authority
• 3 years working with AI/ML products, including generative AI use cases
• Strong working knowledge of LLM-based systems, including prompting strategies, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector databases, and model evaluation concepts
• Experience developing governance frameworks, operating models, or standards within a complex organization
• Proven ability to drive change management and organizational adoption of new technologies
• Exceptional executive communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership and steering committees
• Experience working in media organizations and an understanding of media delivery systems
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and experience creating functional prototypes to validate technical feasibility and user flows
