Learning Initiatives Editor/Videographer/Audio Specialist (Full-time)
Hawaii’s only locally-owned statewide television station is seeking a full-time Editor/Videographer and Audio Specialist for HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i, the statewide student news program. Duties include downloading HD video files and compiling half-hour programs to PBS Hawai‘i standards for broadcast, aiding in the training of teachers and students at participating schools, converting a wide range of digital files, editing and co-producing various HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i related material, and participating in outreach events.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in film/video production and four years’ experience in non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere) required. Must have knowledge of editing principles, the ability to meet specific deadlines, multi-task, and be organized. Patience and strong communication skills required for teaching various skill levels. Successful candidate should have a passion for education, detailed oriented, and proficient in graphics, animation, and color-correction programs. Knowledge of HIKI NŌ on PBS Hawai‘i preferred. This position is part of a small team that reports to the Director of Learning Initiatives, so dependability is important. Must be able to work occasional evenings on a flex schedule.
