PBM Supply and MFG., Inc is a well-established agricultural manufacturing business located in Northern California. We are seeking an outside sales representative to take over a well-established territory spanning Stockon to Merced and Salinas Valley to the Foothills in California due to a planned retirement.
This sales role is ideal for a self-motivated salesperson with agricultural field experience, particularly in fertilizer, spray, or farm application systems. The successful candidate will manage and grow an existing customer base while identifying new opportunities throughout the territory.
Training is available, and you will be supported by an experienced internal team.
Job Summary
The Outside Sales Representative sells products and services to customers via phone, email, fax, as well as in person within their territory. In addition, the Outside Sales Representative provides technical support for products and equipment sold and manufactured by PBM. The person in this position will be responsible making sure their customers equipment needs are met. Also, at times, the employee may pull parts for orders, assist with shipping, and complete returns.
Essential Functions
- Provides quotes and sells parts and equipment.
- Build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Provides technical support regarding parts and equipment sold by PBM by explaining and demonstrating how a part or piece of equipment works.
- Researches answers to customer questions pertaining to PBM equipment or products.
- Responds to customers in a timely manner.
- Provides patient, professional, and positive customer service to provide the best possible service.
- Ensures that the quality of all services provided meets the required standards.
- Operates all necessary software and technology to complete job duties.
- Uses basic math to assist customers with setting up and calibrating agricultural equipment.
- Abides by and implements health, safety, and operating policies and procedures.
- Adheres to attendance and punctuality policies in order to complete all relevant job duties in a timely manner.
- Represents PBM in a professional manner, including appearance and communication with vendors, customers, employees, and coworkers.
- Provides coverage in other departments when necessary.
- Completes other duties and responsibilities at the company's discretion.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience in agricultural equipment sales or other specialized equipment sales is desired.
- Experience or knowledge of agricultural equipment operation is desired.

- Communicate clearly and in a professional manner, as well as maintain positive working relationships.
- Use computers, phones, email, software, and other technology to complete job duties.
- Complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Use basic math skills to complete calculations and other job duties.
- Adhere to attendance and work schedules, as well as maintain a professional appearance.
License/Training Requirements
- Valid Drivers License
- Completion of an on-the-job training to acquire a forklift certification may be required.
- Other special licenses may be required.
Knowledge of
- PBM product lines
- Basic agricultural practices
- Fertilizer application, spray application, and farm equipment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, move, and handle heavy items (approximately 50lbs.) when needed.
- Ability to grab, move, and handle overhead items when needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, coworkers, and members of the public.
- Ability to drive within territory and pull and unload a trailer
Working Conditions
- Home base is located in Chico CA, will be required to physically check in there as needed
- Driving within territory checking in with customers
- Will be provided a company owned vehicle

- May be required to train and work in other departments based on company needs.
Compensation
- $74,121.00-$85,764.00 per year
