PBLA Surveying, Inc. is seeking an experienced Land Surveyor ready to lead a dynamic team in the field. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Survey Party Chief to oversee survey projects throughout California.

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Land Surveyor based in Pomona, CA. The Land Surveyor will be responsible for conducting topographic, land, and building surveys, operating surveying equipment such as total stations, and preparing accurate reports and documentation. The role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure surveys meet client specifications and regulatory standards. Additionally, the Land Surveyor will contribute to maintaining and calibrating survey equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage survey crews in the field, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
- Perform boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys.
- Coordinate with project managers, Engineers, and other department staff to ensure project success.
- Review survey data for accuracy and completeness.
- Operate survey equipment, including total stations, GPS, and levels.
- Mentor and train junior survey crew members.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Proficiency in Topographic Surveys and strong knowledge of land surveying principles, and construction staking
- Experience with Total Station and other surveying equipment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment
- Knowledge of local and federal land surveying regulations is a plus
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred, but not required
- Land Surveyor In-Training (LSIT) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) certification is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a variety of outdoor conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
