What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter/Handyman position at PBJ Painting?
Overview
We are looking for possibly two crewmembers. I do need you to have painting experience. Preferably two to three years.
We do work all over the Chicago land suburbs. We do not service the city of chicago.

Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, plastering, and applying primer to ensure smooth finishes.
- Execute residential and commercial painting using brushes, rollers, airless paint sprayers, and other power tools to achieve high-quality results.
- Read blueprints and schematics to accurately assess project requirements and measurements for renovation tasks.
- Perform carpentry work including trim carpentry, frame carpentry, fixture installation, and caulking to enhance structural integrity and aesthetics.
- Conduct restoration and remodeling projects by repairing drywall, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing.
- Use hand tools such as saws, drills, wrenches, welding equipment, and masonry tools efficiently across various construction tasks.
- Maintain the property by performing general handyman duties like fixture installation, maintenance repairs, schematics interpretation, and industrial painting.
Skills
- Extensive experience with construction estimating to accurately assess project scope and materials needed.
- Strong knowledge of color theory for selecting appropriate paint schemes that complement spaces.
- Proven expertise in residential painting, commercial painting, and construction site experience.
- Proficiency with hand tools and power tools essential for carpentry, plastering, masonry, welding, and maintenance tasks.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics for precise project execution.
- Familiarity with renovation processes including restoration work and remodeling projects.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to construction estimating.
- Knowledge of airless paint spraying techniques for efficient large-scale painting jobs.
- Experience with caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, fixture installation, concrete finishing, masonry work, and industrial painting is highly desirable.
