Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Working Commercial Electrical Foreman with 10 years of hands-on electrical construction experience to lead and oversee electrical projects within commercial construction environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a comprehensive understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and project management software.
This is a temporary position with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on performance and project needs. The selected candidate will initially be assigned to a Five Below commercial build-out project.
This role involves supervising teams, managing project schedules, ensuring quality control, and maintaining safety standards on-site. The Commercial Electrical Foreman will play a critical role in delivering projects on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electrical installation teams on commercial construction sites, ensuring adherence to project plans, timelines, and safety regulations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute electrical work accurately.
- Oversee daily field operations including task delegation, workforce coordination, progress tracking, and quality control measures.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and all applicable safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and clients to meet project milestones and resolve on-site issues promptly.
- Conduct inspections using ohmmeters and other diagnostic/testing equipment to verify electrical systems' functionality and safety.
- Manage procurement of materials and maintain proper inventory levels to prevent project delays.
- Supervise subcontractors and ensure all work aligns with contract specifications, NEC requirements, and industry standards.
- Document project progress through detailed reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of commercial electrical experience, with proven construction management responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience supervising electrical crews on large-scale commercial projects.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, construction estimating, budgeting, and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6.
- Ability to read complex technical drawings and effectively use testing equipment such as ohmmeters.
- Excellent leadership and workforce coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks.
- Solid understanding of commercial construction site safety regulations and quality control procedures.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
- OSHA certification preferred; experience with heavy pipeline projects is a plus.
