Position Overview
The Business Development Account Executive is responsible for driving new merchant growth by identifying opportunities, building trusted relationships, and delivering tailored payment solutions that help businesses operate more efficiently. This role is ideal for a motivated, consultative sales professional with merchant processing experience who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
In this role, you will proactively source and engage prospective merchants, assess their payment processing needs, and present customized solutions that demonstrate clear value and cost savings. You will own the full sales cycle—from initial outreach through close—while building long-term relationships that support ongoing account growth, additional services, and equipment needs. Success is measured by your ability to consistently meet or exceed sales targets while delivering an exceptional customer experience that reflects Payroc’s commitment to doing what’s right for our clients.
You will also stay current on industry trends and changes within the bankcard space, including interchange, EMV, POS technology, and pricing structures, ensuring you are positioned as a knowledgeable and trusted advisor. This role requires strong communication and presentation skills, disciplined pipeline management, and a willingness to continuously learn and adapt as the payments landscape evolves.
- 1st Year Compensation Package realistic opportunity $80,000 - $100,000
- 2nd Year Compensation Package realistic opportunity $100,000 - $150,000
- Portfolio conversion opportunities available
- Compensation Package includes generous base salary, recurring residual income and hardware and software commissions.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their need and presenting sales options
- Sell products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects and recommending custom business solutions
- Create relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance to ensure that they are receiving the best possible customer experience
- Maintain proper communication and protocol in accordance with company guidelines
- Achieve assigned goals and targets as outlined in annual Incentive Compensation Plans
- Continuously learn and adapt to the bankcard world and changes (Interchange, EMV, POS, fees, etc.)
Qualifications
- Merchant processing sales experience highly preferred
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate the value of our product and services to merchants
- Ability to present rate analysis proposals and demonstrate customer savings
- Manage pipeline with the ability to handle future requests for equipment or other services from these customers resulting in additional commissions
- Demonstrate the ability to generate new business through cold calling, networking opportunities, and leveraging existing relationships (leads also provided from Partner Banks)
