LifeLong Medical Care is looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant with a commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based primary pediatric care to join our team at LifeLong William Jenkins Health Center in the heart of Richmond. We have an innovative pediatric-only team within a growing comprehensive family practice community Teaching Health center. LifeLong Medical as an FQHC utilizes an innovative, trauma & resiliency-informed, Behavioral Health integrated and patient-centered team-based care model. We are honored to work with a diverse, predominantly Spanish-speaking community of historical residents to recent immigrants of Richmond and the surrounding West Contra Costa County area.

As a Federally Qualified Health Center in Northern California with over 45 years of dedicated service to the community, LifeLong serves over 66,000 patients in the East Bay Area's socio-economically underserved regions. We provide medical, dental, behavioral health, and school-based services at 15 primary care sites across Oakland, Berkeley, and West Contra Costa County. Benefits

Compensation: $127,504-$151,153/year for NP/PA and pro-rated depending on years since licensed, sign-on bonus, and excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, Flexible Spending Accounts, dependent and domestic partner coverage, 403(b) retirement savings plan, and loan repayment programs. LifeLong is a qualified site for federal and state loan repayment programs (HPSA score is 20). Acceptance rates may vary year to year based on funding levels and the number of applicants.

Responsibilities

Pediatricians are committed to high-quality primary care in a multi-disciplinary setting. Strong interest in caring for a diverse patient population, assuring clinical quality, well-baby exams, treatment for acute illness, and collaboration with experienced Associate Medical Directors. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, communicate and work effectively within an interdisciplinary team. Several site Pediatrician opportunities for full time and part-time, located in Richmond and San Pablo clinic sites

• Provides preventive, urgent care, and primary care health services
• Performs clinical assessment of patients, including ordering appropriate diagnostic evaluations, and plans a program of care.
• Provides verbal and written education and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Plans follow-up care, including requests for outside consultations and evaluations.
• Maintains patient records necessary for clinic reporting, billing, and quality improvement.
• Participates as a site clinical services team member and attends clinical team meetings.
• Coordinates care with other health team members, including case management and behavioral health staff.
• Acts as an advocate for the patient and liaison with outside agencies as appropriate
• Supervises Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, Certified Nurse-Midwives)
• Participates in after-hours on-call as needed
• Assists in supervising and teaching medical residents, students, or clinical fellows.
• Actively participates in internal quality improvement teams and works with members proactively to drive quality improvement initiatives in accordance with the mission and strategic goals of the organization, federal and state laws and regulations, and accreditation standards.
