Essential Functions:

• Efficiently sort, handle, and stock freight.
• Meets required productivity and accuracy standards.
• Follows all preferred work methods, safety policies and procedures per company guidelines.
• Ensures the work area is safe and reports any unsafe conditions and/or acts immediately.
• Obtain supplies required to perform the work and prepare for operations.
• Puts on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear.
• Works from receiving sheets, computer print-out, established procedures and practices, written and/or verbal instructions. Inspects items for damage, perform temperature and quality checks and take appropriate action as needed.
• Performs general housekeeping duties in work area as needed.
• Secures all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:                 

• Must be able to be certified on all equipment used on shift by Kuna Foodservice.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Must have sufficient reasoning capabilities to solve practical problems (Ex.: Is product commercially acceptable? Is this the product the customer ordered?)
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures. (From -10 to 55 degrees)
• Must be able to work overtime, as required.

Work Environment:

This position works in a warehouse setting, with routine exposure to extreme temperatures (to -10 degrees) during the workday. This role routinely uses standard warehouse equipment such as riding forklifts, stand up forklift, hand truck, pallet jacks and box cutters.

Physical Demands:

Continuously during the workday:

• Grasps and/or manipulates objects by quickly moving on hand, a hand and arm together or two hands

• Lift / Push Carry 51 to 100 lbs.
• Bend / Stoop / Twist / Kneel
• Balance / Ride on Stand-up pallet jack

Frequently during the workday:

• Lift / Push / Carry 0 to 50 lbs.
• Reach / Lift above the shoulder 0 to 50 lbs.
• Input data on hand-held device

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.
• Basic math skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

• One year warehouse experience
• Previous forklift certification
