The Pines at Davidson is hiring cooks to create innovative, delicious meals for a high-end dining experience. Under the leadership of our Executive Chef, you will grow your skills while delighting our residents with taste and timely delivery. We are a scratch kitchen supporting multiple newly renovated dining venues. We are committed to growing a workforce of top-notch culinary professionals. Qualifications:Who you are
- A Minimum of 3 years of kitchen experience with hands on food prep.
- A cook with a track record of reliability and ability to learn
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage
What you would do at The Pines
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
- Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
- Cook food in various equipment
- Follow recipes
- Ensure great presentation of food
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Check and ensure quality of ingredients
- Monitor stock and let management know when there are anticipated shortages
- Be a team player on our great team!
